Password

FWIS records your password as an encrypted value that can't be decoded. The encoded value appears when you press "Show Password." If you press the "Update" button without changing your password, it won't be changed.
To change your password first clear the current "Password" field and then enter the new password in the upper box and in the lower "(Confirm)" password change box. If you make a mistake or decide not to save any changes, use the "Back" (left-arrow) button of your browser.
Passwords must be at least six characters long. Although no check for password complexity is currently made, it's recommended that a combination of upper and lower case as well as numeric and other punctuation characters be used. An acronym formed from a "pass phrase" often provides quite strong passwords, as in "Evgdbydsfe." which is derived from the first and last letters of the musical mnemonic for lined notes on a treble clef staff - "Every good boy deserves fudge."
